Policies, Safety & Client Information

At Hijama Cupping Wellness, we are committed to providing a respectful, professional, and safety-conscious experience. Please review these policies before booking an appointment.

Our Services & Wellness Disclaimer

We offer traditional Hijama (wet cupping), dry cupping, and complementary wellness services.
Hijama holds significance in Islamic tradition and is practiced by many Muslims in accordance with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Cupping is a complementary wellness practice. Scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness for specific medical conditions is limited. Our services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, emergency care, or treatment prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
We do not guarantee results or claim to cure diseases, including PCOS, infertility, fibroids, migraines, or other medical conditions. Please consult your healthcare professional about medical concerns and continue prescribed treatments unless your healthcare professional advises otherwise.

Informed Consent

Before treatment, clients will receive information about the selected service, its nature, potential risks, and relevant precautions. Clients may ask questions, decline a procedure, or withdraw consent at any time.
Wet cupping involves breaking the skin and may cause bleeding. Possible risks of cupping include temporary circular marks, bruising, soreness, skin irritation, dizziness, infection, scarring, and delayed healing.
By proceeding with treatment, clients acknowledge the information provided and consent to the agreed procedure. Consent does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived or remove the practitioner’s legal responsibilities.

Health Conditions & Safety Screening

Clients must provide accurate information about relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, and previous reactions to cupping.
Please inform your practitioner before treatment if you have:
  • A bleeding disorder, anemia, or a history of excessive bleeding.
  • A history of blood clots or use of blood-thinning medication.
  • Diabetes, impaired circulation, or delayed wound healing.
  • A weakened immune system or a significant medical condition.
  • Pregnancy or possible pregnancy.
  • Active skin infection, open wounds, or irritated skin in the treatment area.
  • A history of fainting, low blood pressure, or previous adverse reactions to cupping.

These conditions may require additional precautions, medical advice, postponement, or declining treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication to receive cupping.

We reserve the right to postpone or decline a service when we determine that proceeding may be unsafe.

Before Your Appointment

For a more comfortable experience:
  • Eat and drink appropriately before your session.
  • Follow any individualized preparation instructions.
  • Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs before treatment.
  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the selected treatment area.
  • Inform your practitioner if you feel unwell, dizzy, or unusually weak.

Please discuss religious fasting or other preparation concerns with your practitioner before your appointment. Fasting is not universally required for every Hijama session.

Aftercare & Recovery

After treatment, follow the instructions provided by your practitioner.

  • Keep treated skin clean and follow the recommended wound-care instructions.
  • Avoid scratching or irritating treated areas.
  • Avoid activities that aggravate discomfort while the skin heals.
  • Monitor the treatment area for unusual changes.

Seek medical advice for increasing redness, warmth, swelling, worsening pain, pus, fever, or persistent bleeding. Seek emergency assistance for severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or other serious symptoms.

Recovery varies from person to person. We cannot guarantee a particular healing time or outcome.
